Liaoning smoke covers up real issue

This article exemplifies some Hongkongers' problem -- that they complain about or mock every issue, try to find petty faults in things, as long as they're mainland Chinese.
When China launches spaceships, it's why they don't use the money to help the poor kids in the countryside. Huawei phones are used by the communists to spy on users. In Hong Kong, every government infrastructure must be big white elephants. PLA garrison is ready to take over the city. Police force have become an arm of the Chinese state. Any attempts to help youngster know their country better must be propaganda and brainwash. Don't reincarnate as a Chinese is admired by intellectuals and politicians.

There's no denying China has many shortcomings and faces many challenges, but there's also no denying many progress China has made in the past four decades. Yet many Hongkongers have to find faults in everything Chinese. Beneath all the rhetoric about democracy or the lack thereof in mainland China, many Hongkonger dislike mainlanders for no reason other than that their neighbors across Luohu Bridge isn't poor anymore. A rich person won't be threatened by his poor relative but once his poor relative gets rich instantly he hates him.

Human need pride, they need to believe they're better than their peers in some way. So once the economic advantage dissipates, some Hongkongers have to find psychological advantage some other ways, and finding all sorts of real or imaginary problems about mainland China have become a convenient way to ensure their superiority complex won't be challenged. Pathetic.

  1. "isn't poor anymore" is only half of the reason。 Taiwanese, Korean & Japanese all go thro the same way, their enrichment never evoke dislikes from us.

PS. I was a mainlander before the age of 11, emigrated to HK and achieved the understanding the evil of GCD. In one or 2 months, Nobel Peace laureate Liu Xiaobo is dying in GCD's dirty hand. What is the use of money for him and his wife?

  2. I respect your opinion. But when you use the term evil there is then no foundation for dialogue. That is the problem isn't it? I suppose then all civilized and domocratic countries shouldn't be dealing with China. Thanks for your comment.
