On the defensive end, they're finally getting their acts together. Defense is up a notch (two or three notches actually) this year. When they trap, they're trapping aggressively and with a purpose. Rotation is a lot better in chasing opposing players off 3-point lines. Rebounding is a collective effort. Capela has had 15 or more rebounds four times so far this season after having only done it once his entire career before this year. PJ Tucker is rebounding like he's Dennis Rodman.
The only complaint I have? Sometimes the game is over by the third quarter. Today against Denver, Zhou Qi actually sub in in the second quarter LOL.
It's as if by default everyone says Lebron is the best player in the NBA and Durant No. 2. But I would argue James Harden is right there with them. Both eye tests and advanced stats are saying Harden is having (if sustained) an extremely elite offensive season, and this is despite the so-called Harden Rule takes away some of his freebies. Some of the stuff he's doing off the dribble is just ridiculous. He's shooting almost 40% on 3s, 5th best in the league among high-volume 3-point shooters.
Knock on all available wood that the team stays mostly healthy throughout the season.
